Aston Martin has announced that the V12 Zagato’s initial limited run of 150 units will be cut to 101 units.
The company offered no reason for this decision, but there are two possibilities. Either Aston did this because of low demand, or it wants to offer more exclusivity to the €400,000 coupe styled with the help of famed Italian design powerhouse Zagato. One thing is certain: those who got one will be pleased that their ride just got more exclusive.
The result of an internal design competition, the V12 Zagato has an aluminum and carbon fiber body, and uses the platform of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage. Each car will take 2,000 man hours to build, 100 hours of which will be spent on the paint job.
The extensive use of carbon fiber combined with the 510-horsepower delivered by the 6.0-liter V12 means the Aston V12 Zagato will be a very fast supercar. Fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission, the V12 Zagato sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds all the way to a top speed of 190 mph.
