Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing have been rather quiet about their halo car project the Valkyrie since the hypercar’s official introduction at the Geneva Motor Show this March.
But at least they haven’t forgotten about social media where official recent posts have actually offered a glimpse into the progress of development work. Thanks to a Twitter post we now have the Valkyrie posing alongside famous tennis superstar Serena Williams – and we were mesmerized by the fact that it’s a different version compared to the one seen at the Swiss show. There’s a new panel in front of the windshield, and the fender parts on the inside get a different treatment – and even more importantly the coupe now has real, functional headlights, rather than dark cutouts. The alloy wheels are also fresh, with the same black hue but treated to orange center sections.
An Instagram user has also posted a series of photos with the Valkyrie in Monaco during the Formula One Grand Prix weekend – including a great rear-end pose that provides a fantastic look at the enormous (he comments two grown adults would fit on each side!) diffuser task to direct airflow at the back. The Valkyrie is an automotive work of art with components coming from numerous famous brands – the 6.5-liter V12 will be tuned by Cosworth and feature a hybrid system by Rimac, while the seven-speed gearbox comes from Ricardo and the Ford GT builders Multimatic is delivering the carbon fiber monocoque.
