The Italian based car brand ATS has recently released additional details on its SPORT 1000 model, while releasing more images with it.
According to the car manufacturer, the ATS SPORT 1000 has been designed in order to pay tribute to a 1960s racing sports car and it’s getting some interesting features like the stainless steel chassis paneled in aluminum, which only weighs 55 kg or 121 pounds. The GRP-made body is removable and weights 57 kg (125 pounds). The whole car is made using just lightweight materials, so the total weight of it doesn’t go beyond 400 kg (882 pounds).
“The ATS SPORT 1000 recreates the typical characteristics of a racing sportscar of the sixties, simplicity and lightness, but with technology, aerodynamics and performance of modern sportscar. The chassis is made of stainless steel, paneled in aluminum, and only weighs 55kg while the body completely removable in 5 minutes is made of GRP and weighs 57 kg”, as the automaker is saying in its official press release.
Power to the ATS SPORT 1000 can be provided by a motorcycle engine made by Suzuki, Honda or Yamaha, or by any other inline four-cylinder engine. The transmission is chain drive, it has a Quaife ATB limited slip differential, a double wishbone suspension, front and rear anti-roll bars, fully adjustable shock absorbers, collapsible steering column, a 50mm roll bar, six-point Sparco seatbelts, aluminum fuel tank and more. Prices for the ATS SPORT 1000 start at 25,000 euros.
