Audi is planning to introduce a new concept version of an A3-based MPV next month, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, in a world premiere.
The German based automaker Audi is planning to develop an A3-based MPV and the model is expected to be officially presented to the public, in a concept form, next month, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to the guys at Autocar, the model in question will ride on the same platform used on the new VW Golf, Seat Leon, Skoda Octavia or Audi A3, the MQB.
The final production version of the Audi A3 is believed to make its way onto the market within three years and this isn’t actually the first time when we hear about an Audi A3-based MPV, as the carmaker’s former Sales and Marketing boss, Peter Schwarzenbauer, said that a new car will ride on an enlarged version of the MQB platform. The Audi A3-based MPV is believed to receive a variety of powertrains, like the 180 HP 1.8-liter TFSI, the 222 HP 2.0-liter TFSI, the 141 HP 2.0-liter TDI, the 175 HP 2.0-liter TDI and many more.
