The brand new Audi A3 Cabrio has been recently spied with no camouflage on its body, while it was being tested on a public road, in Europe.
The Audi A3 Cabrio is getting ready to be officially presented to the public during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, but until then, the carmaker has to make sure that everything is in its place and working just like it should so testing it on public roads is the best solution for this. But while we got used to seeing it wrapped in heavy camouflage, this new spy photo is coming as a surprise because the newest addition to the A3 range is completely naked.
The new Audi A3 Cabrio is said to be a smaller A5 Cabrio once it will go on sale and it will be the most affordable convertible in the carmaker’s lineup. The BMW 1-Series Convertible will be its main rival, as Mercedes-Benz doesn’t have a drop-top version of the new A-Class, just yet. The engine options will be carried over from the rest of the A3 range so we can expect the 180 HP 1.8 TFSI, the 150 HP and 184 HP 2.0 TDI and more. Additional details on the Audi A3 Cabrio are limited for the moment and will be announced in Frankfurt, during the automotive event.
