The German based automaker Audi is planning to introduce a concept version of the A3 MPV next month, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to a recent report, the model will sport a production version which is said to be named the V4. Just like the original vehicle, the new Audi A3, the MPV in question will ride on the same platform, the MQB, which is also being used on models like the new Skoda Octavia, VW Golf or Seat Leon but if you’re too excited you should know that the final production version of the model is said to make its way onto the market within three years.
This isn’t actually the first time when we hear about an Audi A3-based MPV as the company’s former Sales and Marketing boss, Peter Schwarzenbauer, said that the model will ride on an enlarged version of the MQB platform and it should get a wide variety of powertrains, including the 1.8 liter TFSI with its 180 HP, the 2.0 TFSI with 222 HP, the 2.0 TDI with 141 HP and 175 HP and many more. The Audi A3 MPV, or the Audi V4, as it might be named, will be officially unveiled, in a concept form, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September.
