Audi A3 Sedan to be made in China
The German based automaker Audi is planning to produce the brand new A3 Sedan in China, where production of the model should begin sometimes this year.
After the new Audi A3 Sedan has been confirmed for the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, just a day before writing this article, the model is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with a rumor which is saying that the vehicle will be produced in China. According to the guys at Car News China, the brand new Audi A3 Sedan will be made in China, at FAW-Volkswagen joint venture, and its production will start in the first half of this year.
The new Audi A3 Sedan will ride on the same MQB platform used on its regular three- and five-door brothers, and also found on models like the new VW Golf or the new Seat Leon. The Audi A3 Sedan is expected to be 4.44 meters long, 1.84 meters wide and 1.39 meters tall. The engine lineup which will be adopted by the final production model might be shared with the regular A3 versions, and this will include the 105 HP (77 kW) and 180 HP (132 kW) 1.2 TFSI and 1.8 TFSI respectively, along with two 2.0 liter TDI diesel units, with 150 HP (110 kW) and 184 HP (135 kW). Additional details on the model will be announced in Shanghai.
