The German based automaker Audi is currently celebrating the 20th Anniversary of its “most successful Audi of all time”, the A4.
One of the most popular vehicles Audi has ever created, the A4, is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary. The company has managed to sell more than 6 million units of the model, over the past two decades, which include more than two million units of the current generation.
“When the Audi A4 superseded the successful Audi 80 series 20 years ago, it became a bestseller soon after its launch. It was the fastest production ramp up in the company’s history”, said Hubert Waltl, the Audi production board member.
According to the car manufacturer, a big number in selling the Audi A4 has come from markets such as China, the United States and Germany, where the company says that every fifth car delivered to a new customer is an A4. Besides celebrating the Audi A4’s 20th anniversary, the company has also announced that the next generation of the model will be introduced sometimes in 2015.
The Audi A4 has been in production since 1994 and the current B8 is around since 2008, so the need for a new generation is quite high. The model will probably be introduced as a concept in Geneva and in a full production version at the 2015 Paris Motor Show. More details on it remain unknown for the moment.
