Never thought a limousine buyer would want sportiness out of its ride, but then again models such as the S8 or BMW M760Li bode well with the fan base and the ultra-wealthy customers.
This is probably why Audi is throwing out an optional sport exterior package for the recently introduced all-new A8 sedan, a deal that will spice up things a bit while everyone waits for the actual new S8 version. Naturally, as is customary with Audi models, it takes Sherlock Holmes-level attention skills to notice the changes compared to normal versions of the A8 – for example the large grille has a new aluminum clip for “an even more powerful visual impact.” The front air vents now sport a honeycomb pattern and a vertical strut, and there are also wider side sills, along with a modified rear bumper with built-in diffuser and a rhombus insert.
Audi is offering the Sport Exterior Package at home in Deutschland and the rest of Europe starting early next year, costing a mere €1,950 for the 50 TDI version – another introduction being the new Daytona Gray paint. Inside the stately sedan, the folks from Ingolstadt have decided to accompany the pack with available new sports seats with “optically integrated” headrests, along with pneumatic seat and backrest side bolster adjustment – these ones will cost a whole lot more, at €4,520.
