The order books for the new Audi A8 have been opened in the United Kingdom, where the cheapest model will set you back for 58, 800 GBP.
The Audi A8 is currently available for order in the United Kingdom but the first units will be delivered in January, 2014. The engine lineup available for the new Audi A8 will include a variety of petrol and diesel units, which will include the 3.0 liter supercharged TFSI, with its 306 HP, instead of 286 HP, the 4.0 liter V8 with its 429 HP instead of the previous 414 HP, the 3.0 liter TDI with 254 HP instead of 247 HP and the 4.2 liter TDI, which has gained 35 HP, to a total of 380 HP, and 627 lb-ft of torque.
The extra outputs have been squeezed out of the engines thanks to some modifications made to the fuel injection system or turbocharger. The Audi A8 L is now good for 493 HP, from the 6.2 liter W12 engine, which has a combined fuel economy of 24.1 mpg (UK) and 270 g/km of CO2 emissions. There is also a 4.0 liter TFSI, in the S8, which is good for 513 HP, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.1 seconds. The average fuel consumption in this version stands at 29.4 mpg and the CO2 emissions stop at 225 g/km.
Those of you concerned in saving the environment can order the A8 Hybrid and pretend to have rescued a family of pandas from extinction.
