The German based automaker Audi is planning to introduce a new flagship model, over the following years, which will be known as the A9.
With the economic crisis affecting every major automaker out there, the salvation often comes from Asian expanding and from new small and cheap cars. But this is now the way if you use the four-ring logos on your cars and your name is Audi, because the German based automaker is planning to develop a new flagship sedan, which will sit above the current A8 and it will be named the A9. The model in question is expected to hit the market over the following years.
According to the guys at Auto Motor und Sport, the upcoming Audi A9 will ride on the same platform which is underpinning the next generation of the Q7. The model will be positioned as an Allroad sedan and it will get underbody skid plates and an increased ride height. The new Audi A9 will also receive some impressive technology like the semi-autonomous driving system, which will allow it to drive and to park itself. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment but this is expected to be launched in 2016.
