The first renderings with the upcoming model coming from Audi, the A9, have recently hit the web.
Audi will be introducing a new flagship model in the near future which will be called the A9. The model in question will be based and influenced on the next generation of the A8, as the company has recently announced, and it will be coming in a two-door body style. This will become a direct rival for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and it has been already previewed by the so-called Prologue Concept, during the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The new luxury cruiser will come with an aluminum body and it will get a lot of new technologies on it.
These will also include the Matrix laser headlights which and even possibly the futuristic taillights seen on the Prologue. The one-off vehicle has a 4.0 liter TFSI V8 engine under its hood, which has been rated at 605 HP (445 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, connected to the 8-speed tiptronic transmission, sending power to the all-wheel drive system. The final production model will be sharing the engine lineup with the next Audi A8 and it will be introduced in either 2016 or 2017.
