Audi celebrates 20th anniversary of its Gyor plant in Hungary

This year Audi celebrates the 20th anniversary of its Gyor plant in Hungary.

Dr. Frank Dreves, Chairman of the Supervisory Commission of Audi Hungaria and Board of Management Member for Production of Audi AG, and Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban signed a “strategic partnership agreement” in the Hungarian parliament.

Audi and the Hungarian government share the goals of continuing to promote the areas of dual education, university cooperation, research and development, and innovation, and to safeguard jobs.

“Our decision to establish a production plant in Gyor was absolutely right. Audi Hungaria has developed into a successful company that is of particular importance for the global growth of the Audi brand. This agreement confirms our effective, long-standing cooperation with the Hungarian government and opens up new horizons for future shared projects,” said Dr. Frank Dreves.

Audi Hungaria Motor Kft. has been one of Hungary’s largest companies by revenue and one of its biggest exporters for some years now. “As the biggest investor in the country, our company makes a significant contribution to the development of the Hungarian economy,” said Thomas Faustmann, managing director of Audi Hungaria.

During its 20 years of existence, Audi Hungary has produced approximately 23.6 million engines and more than 580,000 automobiles.
