With a total of 31, 352 units delivered in China, Audi managed to set a new record on the Chinese market in February, increasing the sales by 66% compared to the same period last year.
This could be considered the first time the company topped the 30,000 unit mark in one month, which made Audi clearly confirm its position as the premium-segment market leader in China.
“February was our best month ever for unit sales in China,” says Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management for Marketing and Sales at AUDI AG. “We want to remain on course for further success in 2012 and continue growing at a double-digit pace.”
The record was set mostly with the help of the Audi A4, which was produced in Changchun and hit 8,564 sales (up 77%) and the Audi Q5, with 7,480 units (up 97%). The Audi A6 L also saw an increase of 25% with 9,371 units. Imported vehicles hit 5,797 units, up 120% over the prior-year month. Audi delivered a total of 58,558 units in China and Hong Kong in January and February 2012, an increase of 42% over the same period last year.
