Audi launched Refueling Stop online service in its A3 family of hatchbacks.
The Refueling Stop service will be available beginning in May and will offer drivers information about where to find the cheapest gas. The service is similar to the Chevrolet MyLink and MyFord Touch, which also offer drivers the possibility to find the nearest station with the cheapest gas.
Audi said that the service accesses an online database of gas stations and current prices and matches the list with the vehicle’s destination or location. The driver has the possibility to sort the results by distance or price, choose a destination and then simply set the navigation destination. The service is currently available only for the A3 vehicles, therefore the system considers the type of fuel necessary for the model, diesel or premium depending on the engine.
The German automaker said that in the near future the Refueling Stop will also be available for the A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q3, Q5 and Q7 models. The system needs the Audi’s MMI Navigation plus and the Audi connect option in A3 models or the optional online Bluetooth connectivity system. The service also provides real-time traffic conditions and even suggests appropriate detours if necessary.
