Audi is not excluding the possibility of a high performance version to sit on top of the recently shown S1 and S1 Sportback, which will be none other than the RS1.
The German based automaker Audi might start the development of a version to sit on top of the S1 and S1 Sportback, the RS1. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet, but according to the guys at Motoring, who have recently spoken to the Audi S1 design Frank Gruner, such a model is not ruled out. “Wait and see” was Gruner’s answer when he was asked whether he is working on the design of the RS1.
If it will indeed hit the production line, then its needless to say that the Audi RS1 will have more power than what the 2.0 liter four-cylinder TFSI petrol burner is producing inside the S1, 231 HP (170 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque. Besides the more power, the Audi RS1 will also get an updated suspension system, better brakes, larger alloy wheels, an aerodynamic and more aggressive body kit and probably some changes in the cabin. More details on the possible Audi RS1 are limited for the moment.
