The German based automaker Audi has just announced a new milestone after the 6-millionth car equipped with the Quattro all-wheel drive system has been produced.
Te Ingolstadt plant has rolled off on its assembly line the 6-millionth vehicle equipped with the Quattro all-wheel drive system. According to Audi, this comes only a year and a half since the 5-millionth car has been produced in the same facility.
“Six million times Audi Quattro drive – that’s an outstanding performance! 30 years of Quattro success are a credit to our motivated production team, which consistently and efficiently implements the Audi production system”, said the Board of Management member for Production at Audi AG, Hubert Waltl.
The milestone car mentioned here is an SQ5 finished in a monsoon gray metallic paint job. This will be delivered, with its 3.0 liter TDI Quattro engine, to a family in the United States. Audi has managed to assemble a total of 710,095 vehicles with Quattro drive, back in 2013 and it seems that approximately 2,000 of such units are being produced daily. The company is currently offering approximately 170 quattro-model versions, which include different body styles, engines and transmissions, a huge choice for people interested in buying all-wheel drive cars.
