The German based automaker Audi is planning to introduce a new model which will be based on the Volkswagen Up!.
Audi has some big plans for its future models and in order to assure itself popularity and increased sales, the company will develop a new city car. The model in question will be known as the Audi A0 and it will be based on the Volkswagen Up!. The vehicle has been confirmed by the company’s CEO, Rupert Stadler, who apparently wants such a model by 2015.
If it will indeed get the green lights for production, than the new Audi A0 will be based on the Volkswagen Up!, on the Skoda Citigo and the Seat Mii and it will get some features and technologies shared with its three cousins. The only difference will be the more premium materials which will be used in the cabin and the different body style.
Rumors are saying that the new Audi A0 will pack a 1.0 liter TSI petrol engine under its hood, the same one which was used on the Volkswagen Up! GT Concept, which is expected to produce more than the 60 HP and 75 HP units in the current models. Additional details on the new Audi A0 are limited for the moment and will be announced if the model gets the green light for production.
