Audi, Vw’s premium division plans to expand its model range of Q line suvs by introducing the Q2 mini suv.
According to Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport, the Q2 is planned for 2015 and looks like it will be based on the actual Vw Up platform.
Q2 will combine the electric drive of the ultra-frugal VW XL1 and will have about 75 hp. Fuel consumption is expected to be as low as 1.1 liters for every 100 km, and in pure electric mode the vehicle should travel about 50 km.
On the same time, according to Ulrich Hackenberg’s plans, Audi is looking at all options including a Van.
Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler confirmed in an interview that there is a gab indeed between the A1 and A3 and the company may offer several new models.
“”Yes, for an SUV for example, but also for other models of the A-family,” the CEO said.
“We are of the opinion that it is important to make the e-tron technology available on all platforms, so that a relevant number of models can be manufactured with this technology.”
“We will be using the new modular longitudinal platform in principle to electrify every model in our range, and we are able to produce these cars on our existing production lines.”
