The German based automaker Audi is planning on introducing a new top of the line version of its new Q7 generation, the RS Q7.
Audi is planning on introducing a brand new version of the 2016 Q7. We are talking about the range topping RS Q7 variant which will either go against the BMW X5 M50d or even the range topping BMW X5 M, and other similar models. The upcoming vehicle hasn’t been confirmed for production just yet and it is actually part of a report published by Top Gear, quoting an insider source who is suggesting that the RS Q7 might be offered with a diesel engine.
This isn’t the first time when Audi is installing a massive diesel engine under the hood of the Q7 but instead of the previous V12, the carmaker might now be using the V8. Rumor has it that the 4.2L V8 diesel might be found under the hood of the new Q7 generation, with its 380 HP and 850 Nm of torque, but these figures will probably be bumped in order to help the model in question to really call itself an RS Q7.
As you probably already know, the new Q7 generation has been brought to the 2015 NAIAS, in Detroit, last month, and it has a 2.0L TFSI unit with 252 HP and 370 Nm of torque, a 3.0L TFSI with 333 HP and 440 Nm and two 3.0L TDIs, with 218 HP and 500 Nm and with 272 HP and 600 Nm. A Plug-in hybrid e-tron Quattro will also be offered, with the 3.0L TI unit. The new Q7 has the Matrix LED headlights.
