Audi is going to be offering a baby crossover next year and this will be known as the Q2.
Initial rumors were indicating that the brand new entry-level crossover to be signed by Audi will be known as the Q1 but according to a recent report, the model in question will be sold as the Q2. The vehicle is going to be shown in the first quarter of 2016, during the Geneva Motor Show, and it is said to ride on a shortened version of the flexible MQB platform. This will be offered, in standard, with the front-wheel drive, but the more expensive versions will be gaining a Quattro all-wheel drive setup.
The brand new Audi Q2 is going to be aimed towards young customers who are fancying small crossovers and the model is believed to have a starting price of approximately 25,000 euros. This will be making it more expensive than the A1 Sportback, which can be bought from just under 18,000 euros, currently. Under its hood, the Audi Q2 will be gaining a series of three- and four-cylinder engines, both gasoline and diesel burners, and it is also believed to give birth to an SQ2 version, getting a 2.0 liter twin turbo diesel with 230 HP, along with an RS Q2, bringing a 2.0 liter TFSI turbocharged gasoline unit, with 300 HP. Expect a plug-in hybrid into the lineup, as well. The Audi Q2 will be offered for sale in the second half of 2016.
