The all-new compact size crossover Audi Q2 has recently leaked over the web, revealing a direct rival to the Nissan Juke, Opel Mokka and others.
According to the guys at Auto Express Magazine, who we also have to thank for the images, the upcoming Audi Q2 will be officially presented to the public in the next 12 months in a concept form. Our source is also saying that the Audi Q2 will be closer in design to the A1 than to the A3 and, as it was expected, its off-road capabilities will be limited because the model will be offered predominantly with a front-wheel drive, but upper versions will come with the Quattro all-wheel drive technology.
The final production version of the Audi Q2 will hit the market in 2-3 years, as Auto Express Magazine says in its latest number (May 2012). The small crossover will be developed on the new MQB platform, the same one used on the all-new Audi Q3 and also the same one which will underpin future models, like the Volkswagen Golf MK7. The Audi Q3 will be offered with four seats and the model will be a direct competitor to the Nissan Juke, Opel Mokka, Peugeot 2008 and the Ford EcoSport.
