The German based automaker Audi is planning to develop a Q2 concept car which will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show and will eventually hit the market in 2013.
The fact that Audi is currently developing the Q2 Concept is no longer a surprise for any but according to the guys at What Car, the model will probably be unveiled on the 27th of September during the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The Audi Q2 crossover will be closer to the A1 and to the Q3 in terms of styling and it’s expected to get off-road inspired bumpers, plastic body cladding and an increased ride height. The final production version of the Audi Q2 might hit the market sometimes next year.
The Audi Q2 will be closer in design to the A1 than to the A3 and its off-road capabilities will be limited because the model will be offered mainly in front-wheel drive, but upper versions will also be available with the company’s Quattro all-wheel drive technology. The Audi Q2 will be developed on the new MQB platform, the same one used on the new generation of the Audi A3, the same one which is used by the next generation of the VW Golf too. The Audi Q2 will go against the Nissan Juke, the Opel Mokka, the Peugeot 2008 and the Ford EcoSport, and the model will be offered with four seats.
