A new rendering with the so-called Audi Q8 has hit the web recently and it might give us a preview into a possible future model.
BMW has opened a path in the segment with its X6, which is now in its second generation, and Mercedes-Benz has recently entered it, with the brand new GLE Coupe. But what is Audi doing, you might ask. Well, nothing at the moment, because it has been pretty busy with created a new generation of the Q7, but it definitely wants a piece of the action, so seeing a model like the one pictured above is a big possibility.
When the German based automaker will finally decide to put such a vehicle into production, than this will be most likely based on the new Audi Q7 generation. The main difference will be the sloping roofline, which will put it in the same segment as the GLE and the X6. The rear end of the SAV might be slightly updated too, in the taillights region, at least. As far as the interior design goes, this will be carried over from the Q7, along with the engine lineup. More details on it are limited at this time.
