The German based automaker Audi has recently announced its plans to introduce a special edition of the R8 on the Chinese market.
According to the car manufacturer, the so-called Audi R8 China Edition will only be available in the Asian country and the model will get two unique finishes for its exterior, the special Malibu Blue paint for the body and the Suzuka Grey for the famous side blades, and vice-versa. The Audi R8 China Edition is sitting on gloss-black 19-inch wheels and it’s also getting an exposed carbon fiber rear wing.
The cabin will get some tweaks too and the aluminum shifter has received the R8 badge and two Chinese characters, along with a series number out of 99, even if just 80 units of the supercar will be launched. The leather upholstery has been contrasted with stitching and Alcantara is being used on the steering wheel and hand brake.
Power to the Audi R8 China Edition is being provided by the V10 engine, which is allowing the supercar to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds. Production of the R8 China Edition will be limited to 80 units and prices will start at 2.33 million RMB in China, or the equivalent to 375,000 USD.
