An illegal drag race has ended up tragically for an Audi R8 driver who lost his life while racing a Porsche 911.
Supercar incidents happen almost on a daily basis and the newest one is coming all the way from the United Kingdom. According to the guys from BBC, the 22-year old driver of this crashed Audi R8 has lost his life while racing a Porsche 911. The incident took place on the A6 in Bedfordshire. The driver of the Porsche has fled the scene after the accident and he is currently being sought by the police.
The Audi r8 has been introduced back in 2006 and entered production one year later. The model is close to the end of its life as a successor is just around the corner, which will be based on the new Lamborghini Huracan, the replacement of the Gallardo. The R8 is offered in two body styles, coupe and roadster, and it has a longitudinal mid-engine and a Quattro all-wheel drive. Power is being provided by a 4.2 liter FSI V8 or by a 5.2 liter FSI V10, mated to a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed manual, a 6-speed R-Tronic or a 7-speed R-Tronic transmission.
