The German based automaker Audi has recently released more details on the R8 e-tron and a production version of the model seems more likely than ever.
According to the car manufacturer, the Audi R8 e-tron will come with a number of bespoke components which will include the LED taillights, the illuminated e-tron badging, the carbon fiber reinforced plastic body panels and more. In the cabin we can find a bespoke gear knob, leather seats, a revised center console, new instrumentation, a seven-inch display, MMI infotainment system and a digital rearview mirror.
Power to the “green” supercar is being provided by two electric motors, which are producing a total output of 381 HP (280 kW) and 820 Nm of torque (605 lb-ft), from the 48.6 kWh lithium-ion battery. The 1,780 kg (3,924 lbs) model is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). The range in the Audi R8 e-tron stands at 215 km (134 miles) on a single charge. When the lithium-ion battery will be depleted, it will charge from a 230V outlet in approximately 12 hours.
