The German based automaker has recently announced that the R8 Exclusive Selection Editions will only be available in the United States for the 2012 model year.
According to the car manufacturer, the Audi R8 Exclusive Selection Editions will be produced in just 50 units, 20 of them getting the V8 engine and the rest coming with the larger V10 shared with Lamborghini. Audi says that the R8 V10 Exclusive Selection Edition will get a Daytona Grey matte exterior, a carbon fiber diffuser, a carbon fiber splitter, a black grille surround, red brake calipers, black exhaust pipes and black finishes for the taillights inspired by the R8 GT and a fresh set of 19-inch titanium wheels.
The Audi R8 V8 Exclusive Selection Edition is also getting some interesting updates, such as the thicker contoured multi-function steering wheel which has been wrapped in leather, the leather Navigation surround, the contrast stitching and the Crimson Red elements in the cabin. Audi says that this version of its supercar is getting the 4.2 liter V8 FSI engine, which is producing a total output of 430 HP at 7,900 rpm and 316 lb-ft (427 Nm) of torque between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm. The larger V10 engine is the 5.2 liter FSI with 525 HP at 8,000 rpm and 391 lb-ft of torque (529 Nm) at 6,500 rpm. Both units can be mated to a six-speed manual or the automatic R tronic transmission.
