The German based automaker Audi will unveil its newest creation in terms of the R8 supercar, the R8 GT Plus, this weekend, during the Le Mans.
Audi didn’t really announced its plans on presenting the R8 GT Plus this weekend at Le Mans but according to the guys at Autocar, the model is based on the current generation of the R8 and it will be revealed during the race. The Audi R8 GT Plus is powered by a revised version of the 5.2 liter V10 engine, which is producing more than 552 HP (412 kW) and it has a peak torque of 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) available on the 2010 R8 GT.
The Audi R8 GT Plus is getting a rear-wheel drive thanks to the six-speed manual transmission, but if all-wheel drive is chosen, the gearbox will be replaced by a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic. In the last version, the R8 GT Plus can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than its predecessor. Top speed will remain at 320 km/h (199 mph). The model will give birth to an Audi R8 GT Spyder eventually.
