An Audi R8 driver had the scare of his life when his supercar got hit by a Dodge SUV whose driver ran a stop sign.
According to luxury4play.com, the Audi R8 was cruising the streets of Tampa Florida over the weekend when he “met” up close with a Dodge SUV, after its driver, a young woman, ran a stop sign, violently hitting the German sports car. Our source is also saying that the driver of the Audi R8 was extremely shocked by the incident but thankfully, both him and his girlfriend, who was sitting in the passenger seat, escaped without injuries. We don’t have any details on what happened to the young woman who was driving the Dodge SUV, but considering the difference between the two vehicles, we can say for sure that walked away unharmed.
As a reminder, the Audi R8 is a mid-engine, two-seater sports car, being designed, developed and manufactured by Audi AG’s high performance private subsidiary company, Quattro GmbH. The R8 is based on the same platform as the Lamborghini Gallardo and it’s using an aluminum monocoque which is built around space frame principles. The sports car has been in production ever since 2006 but a new generation is on its way.
