Audi reached a new sales record in the first six months of 2012 delivering more than 733,000 cars, up 12.3% from the same period last year.
In June the company sold 133,050 units, up 13.1% compared to 2011. In Germany the company continued the strong performance with an increase of 14.6% and in China up 20.4%. In June in the US the company registered the best sales month in the company’s US history, up 26.0%.
“Despite a noticeable headwind in the Southern European markets, where Audi performs better than the total market, the brand is growing in all world regions. As a result, we are clearly on course to achieve our target of 1.4 million deliveries by year’s end,” says Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG. Peter Schwarzenbauer, Audi Board Member for Marketing and Sales.
He added that the company also plans to continue to boost sales in the second half of the year, when sales are traditionally not so strong. Audi relies on the new generation Q5 and the new A3 to bring the expected growth in sales.
