The new generation of the Audi RS4 Avant is returning to our attention with the help of two fresh photos.
Ever since Audi has pulled the wraps off the new generation of the A4, in its two body styles, sedan and estate, everyone kept thinking about the upcoming RS4 version and considering the fact that the segment for performance premium midsized sedans has increased, we really hope that the carmaker is considering the addition of an RS4 with a four-door body style. The images posted below are nothing more than simple renderings, signed by Theophilus Chin which are giving us a glimpse of the upcoming RS4 Avant.
Notice the modified front and rear fascias, with the more aggressive bumpers, the lower side skirt, the front apron, the rear diffuser, the large dual exhaust system and the larger and newly designed wheels, amongst others. Keep in mind, however, that we are not talking about a final production version of this vehicle so chances are it may look quite different than what we are expecting. Rumor has it that the 4.2 liter V8 engine from the previous RS4 will be dropped in favor of a newer turbocharged V6, with a smaller displacement, producing more power. A new S4 version is also planned for the near future and chances are that this will be unveiled faster than the more hardcore one. Additional details on the high-performance variant of the new A4 are limited at this time.
