Audi has brought the new RS5 Cabrio to the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
After it was officially presented to the public last year on the Old Continent, time has come for Americans to enjoy the new Audi RS5 Cabrio too, and the model has taken its hat off in front of its new audience during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. In Europe, the Audi RS5 Cabrio is already available for its future customers and its starting price has been set at 88,500 euros but no details on the official price list for the model over-seas have been announced yet.
Power to the RS5 Cabrio is provided by the 4.2 liter V8 naturally aspirated engine, producing a total output of 444 HP (450 PS) at 8,250 rpm and 318 lb-ft of torque (430 Nm), available between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. The unit is mated to a seven-speed S tronic transmission, sending power to the Quattro all-wheel drive system. The Audi RS5 Cabrio can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.9 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The speed limiter can be lifted and the model will then reach 174 mph (280 km/h). The fuel consumption stands at 22 mpg US (10.7 L / 100 km).
