Audi has announced the “performance” version for the RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback, which is bringing a lot of tweaks.
The two vehicles are now coming with the 20 mm lowered adaptive air suspension system, the dynamic system benefiting from the continuously variable steering ratio, the 21-inch bespoke alloy wheels wrapped in 285/35 (RS6) and 257/30 (RS7) tires, covering the four ventilated disc brakes or the optional carbon ceramic discs.
Other features worth mentioning include the glossy black honeycomb grille, more aggressive diffuser, optional Ascari Blue, RS sport seats, Alcantara / leather upholstery with the honeycomb pattern, carbon trim, new look for the instrument dials and so on. The 8-speed tiptronic transmission has been revised as well and it will send power to both axles depending on some variables, like the grip and speed. The center differential is offered in standard but there is a sport differential as well, coming as an optional.
The 4.0 liter TFSI V8 engine is now producing 605 PS and 700 Nm of torque, or 750 Nm with the overboost function, allowing the car to reach 100 km/h in 3.7s. Top speed has been raised from 250 km/h to 280 km/h. The RS6 Avant starts from 117,000 euros, on its local market, Germany, while for the RS7 Sportback, customers will have to pay 121,700 euros, in the performance versions. Both cars will be hitting dealerships next month.
