The German based automaker Audi is planning to release a high-performance version of its four-door coupe, the RS7.
While the sedan version of the RS6 Avant has no chance of hitting the market, future customers of the model, looking for the more interesting variant of the RS6 will have no choice but to order its four-door coupe brother, the RS7, which will use the same engine in the same configuration. The Audi RS7 will be offered as an alternative to the RS6 sedan and the model will only be offered in this four-door coupe version, which is going on sale against models like the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe or the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG.
Power to the Audi RS7 will be provided by the same 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine found under the hood of the RS6 Avant, replacing the old 5.2 liter naturally aspirated unit from the previous generation of the RS6 Avant, which is producing a total output of 560 HP (412 kW) and 700 Nm of torque (516 lb-ft). The RS7 is expected to get the same eight-speed tiptronic transmission, which will send power to the Quattro all-wheel drive system. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment.
