Audi AG, the premium unit of the Volkswagen Group and the second-largest luxury automaker in the world reported its sales last month rose 9.7% to 144,000 vehicles.
The automaker’s deliveries after seven months into 2014 have risen 11.1% to 1.01 million cars, allowing executives to become confident the company can meet its internal goal of more than 1.6 million units delivered for the whole year.
“We successfully managed to continue our global growth strategy in July and for the first time in Audi history exceeded the million mark for cars sold after just seven months,” says Luca de Meo, Member of the Board of Management for Sales at AUDI AG. “This means that we are in a very good position to achieve well over 1.6 million deliveries this year.”
The carmaker’s deliveries grew in each of the three main regions: by 5.4% in Europe, to a total of around 63,950 units; by 16.2 % in the Asia-Pacific region (up 15.6% in China to 48,279 cars); and by 11.9% in the US – to 14,616 autos.
Thanks to the introduction of the A3 sedan, the compact family of cars from Audi reported their highest jump last month, rising 52.3% to about 25,450 vehicles. The A6 was the best-selling full-size model, with sales growing 13.6% to 26,500 units.
