Audi Sees Increased Profit in European July Sales image

In July Audi reached a double-digit profit growth of 12.9%, delivering 119,600 vehicles worldwide.

The company’s strongest ever July profit was reached due to increased sales in the US of 28% and 10.7% in Germany. For the first half of 2012 Audi delivered around 852,900 vehicles, up 12.4% over the same period last year.

“Following this successful start to the second half, we are expecting the new A3 to give us an extra lift over the coming months,” said Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG. “Because we aim to continue pioneering the premium compact class with the new generation, too.”

Although hit by the economic crisis, Audi saw further growth in Europe in July, with 60,800 units sold here, up 5.5%, in Eastern Europe selling 4,800 units, up 31.4%. Russia was the country with the highest demand, up 35.6% to 2,757 units, followed by Germany up 10.7% to 23,712 units.
