The all new generation of the midsize sedan, the 2017 A4 will celebrate its North American premiere next week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The model will soon reach the dealerships as well, sometimes this spring, looking eager to help Audi top off last year’s sales record (they sold more than 200,000 units for the first time) and the US-spec A4 looks decidedly identical to its European cousin. Among its most interesting exterior features are the xenon plus headlights, LED daytime running lights, or 17 inch alloys. Inside the upscale atmosphere is enhanced by the eight-way power front seats, LED ambient lighting, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control system, split-folding rear seats, and power sunroof. Information is provided via the 7-inch display of the infotainment system and numerous optional add such amenities as the color heads-up display, Audi virtual cockpit with 12.3-inch display or the premium 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
The Audi drive select system is offered as a standard feature and boasts the auto, comfort, dynamic, and individual modes. Owners can also upgrade to the adaptive damping suspension or sport suspension – the latter makes the car sit closer to the road by 0.9 inches (23 millimeters). Launch formalities are covered by the sole engine: a turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine developing 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque (370 Nm), mated to a new seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission that can send power to the optional quattro all-wheel drive system. Pricing for the 2017 Audi A4 starts at $37,300 for the Premium trim and will go up to $48,000 if going for the Prestige version.
