Audi showcases RS Q3 performance sporting 367 hp image

The RS Q3 can be had from Audi from now in an even more hardcore version – performance – which brings to the table a total output of 67 horsepower.

Audi is not stellar at bringing ubiquitous designs (as all of their styling work is in itself ubiquitous because of the cloning process that happens across the entirety of the range) but at least manages to compensate with its technical prowess. We may accuse the Ingolstadt-based automaker of lack of design flair when we have trouble making up the different generations of its models, but we’re always happy when they deliver even more performance-prone models to the roster. This is the latter case now as the facelifted Audi RSQ3 that appeared back in 2014 was brought to the table with some extra oomph – the turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine was massaged for another 30 horsepower and 30 Newton meters to a total of 340 hp (250 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm).

Now the Audi engineers have again worked some magic on the powerplant and in the new “performance” version the crossover displays 367 hp (270 kW) and 343 lb-ft (465 Nm) – which is the same power level as the one showcased in the RS3 Sportback. The Audi RS Q3 performance will now handle the 62 mph (100 km/h) run in 4.4 seconds, which is a good 0.4 seconds better than what the regular model can deliver. And the performance guise also makes do without the electronic top speed limiter, jumping the maximum speed from 155 mph to 167.8 mph (270 km/h).

Aside from the added oomph, the performance RS Q3 also has a sport-modified seven-speed S tronic transmission and even some minor tweaks to the overall design: updated front bumper with bigger air inlets, and the back hosts a larger diffuser – some of the parts out there have a titanium accent and the automaker is also offering the Ascari blue metallic body paint. The model can be ordered in Germany for 61,000 euros ($67,626) and the public introduction will take place during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show early March.
