Audi may be planning to introduce the new Sport Quattro Concept, in its production form, sometimes in 2015, probably during the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Rumors on Audi planning to develop a production version of the new Sport Quattro have been around for quite some time now and it seems that the model isn’t that far away from hitting the assembly line, as the newest report is saying that the car will finally hit the market in 2015. According to the guys at Auto Motor und Sport, the new Audi Sport Quattro should receive a turbocharged engine under its hood.
Our source is saying that unlike the concept’s turbocharged 4.0 liter V8 V8 and along with the electric motor, which is good for 700 HP (515 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, the final production version of the Audi Sport Quattro will get a 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine under its hood, producing a total output of approximately 340 HP – 360 HP (250 kW – 265 kW). Carbon fiber will be used for the body, along with aluminum, trying to keep its weight at 1,300 kg. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment.
