Audi has recently announced its plans to introduce the SQ5 during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
The brand new Audi SQ5 is different than the SQ5 TDI and the model is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 supercharged engine, which is producing a total output of 349 HP, available between 6,000 and 6,500 rpm. The unit has also been used on other Audi models, like the A5, A6, A7, A8 and even on its larger brother, the Q7. The peak torque stands at 347 lb-ft and it’s available between 4,000 and 4,500 rpm. Audi says that the SQ6 can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.3 seconds, before reaching a limited top speed of 155 mph.
All that power is being sent to the all-wheel drive through an eight-speed automatic transmission which is also responsible for the EPA 18/26 mpg in city / highway. Prices for the Audi SQ5 in the United States will start at around 50,000 USD and it will arrive in the country in the third quarter of 2013. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, on the 14th of January.
