A production version of the Audi Quattro Concept is still considered by the car manufacturer.
The Audi Quattro Concept can be called anything but new but even so, the vehicle has still managed to be placed into the spotlights, several years after it has been officially presented to the public. According to the guys from Autocar, the car manufacturer is still considering the introduction of a production version of the Quattro, quoting the company’s new design director, Marc Lichte, who has spoken at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Audi has shown, over the last few years, two interpretations of the Quattro, which should be reborn soon, the 2010 Quattro and the 2013 Sport Quattro, and the final production variant is expected to be a combination of the two. Initial rumors were saying that the Audi Quattro Concept will be created using lightweight materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber and it will be packing a 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, with approximately 600 HP (441 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The vehicle is believed to be standing in at 4.6 meters in length and to weigh 1,200 kg, despite using the same platform as the A6.
