The German based automaker Audi is planning to expand its crossover lineup with the Q2, Q4, Q6 and Q8 models, which should hit the market soon.
Even if the car manufacturer didn’t say anything about the development of the Q2, Q4, Q6 and Q8 just yet, the guys at automobilemag.com are talking about the crossovers and have even convinced the company’s chairman of board to admit that Audi is expanding its crossover lineup. According to our source, the four future models to wear the Audi badge on them will be crossovers and not SUVs and the current Q3, Q5 and Q7 will get some off-road capabilities.
“The SUV segment keeps on growing. This is a trend not only in China and North America, but also in Europe. Because Audi wants a share of the action, we are going to expand our crossover lineup, as Rupert Stadler, the Audi chairman of the board, told our source.
The future Audi crossovers will go against models like the X2 and X4 from BMW, which are also under development, as well as the MLC and GLA from Mercedes-Benz. Unfortunately we don’t have any more details on the Audi Q2, Q4, Q6 and Q8 crossovers for the moment but the four models could be presented, in concept forms, this autumn or next spring, during a major international automotive event.
