The roadster version is also on sale but you’ll have to shell out at least £53,550 if you want open top thrills, while even this high price point doesn’t get you among the standard amenities the spectacular OLED taillights.
The German automaker has released initial pricing details for the 2017 Audi TT RS in U.K., with the company only revealing the base prices – the coupe goes out on the market from £51,800 OTR, whereas the Roadster is going to a £1,750 premium. The TT RS can be written in the company’s history book as the first production Audi to feature OLED taillights, though they will be seen on the optional list and for now we’re unable to even guess how much Audi wants for this new technology. The standard LED headlights can also be ditched in favor of optional matrix LED headlights featuring 12 light-emitting diodes that will be automatically and individually turned off depending on the traffic conditions up ahead.
Additionally, the heart and soul of the TT RS is the newest update of the familiar turbocharged 2.5-liter, five-cylinder engine controlling 400 horsepower (294 kilowatts) & 354 pound-feet (480 Newton-meters) of torque. This suffices for a 62 mph (100 kph) time of 3.7 seconds – 3.9 seconds for the Roadster. The top speed is limited to 155 mph (250 km/h) – but the optional Dynamic Package Plus will allow anyone to get an even heavier fine at 174 mph (280 kph).
