Audi Ag, the German premium carmaker has just unveiled the SQ5 compact crossover at Le Mans.
The SQ5 TDI is powered by a 309bhp 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbo diesel which has a huge 650Nm of torque.
It does 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph, yet also claims 39.2mpg. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends that power through the brand’s Quattro all-wheel drive system to all four wheels, with automatic torque vectoring between wheels.
The SQ5’s sport suspension lowers the body by 1.18 inches, and the standard 20-inch wheels wear 255/45 tires, with 21-inch wheels as optional.
Really, the visual differences between a Q5 equipped with the S-line package and this new SQ5 are rather subtle, which befits a true representative of Audi’s S range.
Exterior touches include front black brake calipers with S badging, a platinum gray single-frame grille, roof spoiler, modified bumpers, high-gloss paint around the windows and aluminum-look exterior mirrors.
As is typical for an S model, the interior has black trim and exudes a sporty elegance.
The headlining is optionally available in lunar silver. The power-adjustable sport seats come standard in Pearl Nappa leather/Alcantara. Leather upholstery in a choice of four colors is available as an option. Brushed aluminum inlays are standard.
