Audi Urban Concept is hitting the production line image

After presenting it to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the German based automaker Audi is planning to produce its Urban concept, and the model might actually roll off the assembly line to hit the dealerships in 2013.

According to the Car Magazine, the Audi Urban Concept is expected to be introduced in 2013, but if you’re eager to get your hands on one you’d better move fast because only 999 units of the model will be available.

The Audi Urban Concept is 3.219 mm long, 1.678 mm wide and just 1.189 mm tall (Sportback), being a 1+1 vehicle for urban and metropolitan areas set to demonstrate the importance which the German automaker gives its cars on weight reduction with carbon fiber and light materials being used a lot.

Weighing just 1.058 pounds, the Urban Concept combines the elements of a race car, a roadster and a city car all in one vehicle and as a reminder it packs two electric motors which are developing 20 horsepower and 47 Nm of torque (35 lb-ft), with the 0 to 60 km/h (0 – 37 mph) acceleration time taking around six seconds, hitting a top speed of 100 km/h (62 mph) and having an overall range of just 73 km (45 miles).
