Audi and Bang & Olufsen have decided to partner for the audio experience inside the new generation A8 flagship, essentially lining up the limousine with 23 speakers – even two in the headliner – and 1,920 watts of sound power.
Audiophiles might develop a fan-affliction for the four-ringed brand because Audi continues the partnership with Bang & Olufsen for yet another high-fidelity sound system. It has been developed particularly for the A8 and it’s called the Advanced Sound System – its 23 loudspeakers get ultra-light neodymium magnets for distortion-free, crystal clear experience. The companies even counsel the A8 owner’s to listen to a classic concert or any other type of music lacking artificial effects.
Audi has speakers everywhere – two in the A-pillars, two in the headliner above the rear seats – and the system has 1,920 watts and a high-end 3D aural experience via the digital signal processor. As before, once you power up the A8’s infotainment system, two tweeters automatically elevate from the dashboard – these pack Bang & Olufsen’s own Acoustic Lens Technology, ensuring sound distribution in horizontal 180-degree fan. Each of the lodspeakers has its own amplifier and the 3D sound algorithm is a collaboration between Audi and Fraunhofer Institute in Erlangen, Germany.
