The Australian based automaker Holden is planning to introduce a new engine option on the Cruze in Australia, once the facelifted version will hit the market next month.
Even if the new generation of the Chevrolet Cruze is under development, Australia is sticking to facelifts when it comes to Holden and two such vehicles have been recently spotted on the roads of Sydney. The facelifted Holden Cruze will get the MyLink infotainment system, along with a 7-inch touch screen integrated into the dashboard. The software will allow the driver to applications, to use live music streaming through Bluetooth and more.
Besides the goodies mentioned above, the facelifted version of the Holden Cruze will also get a new engine option. We are talking about a 1.6 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is found on the Opel Astra, where it’s producing a total output of 132 kW and it has a peak torque of 230 Nm. The 1.8 liter four-cylinder unit will still be offered as a base engine but engineers are working to improve its fuel economy and performance. The new generation of the Cruze is expected to make its way in Australia in 2015 or 2016.
