McLaren has recently announced a price cut for the MP4-12C in Australia which is more than significant.
New rear mid-engined supercar buyers in Australia are going for the MP4-12C’s rivals, the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Lamborghini Aventador, so McLaren has decided to drop the price of the model in the Pacific country. According to the car manufacturer, the McLaren MP4-12C has received a significant price drop of 102,000 AUD, from 493,100 AUD to 398,000 AUD, while its roofless brother, the 12C Spider, now costs 441,780 AUD instead of 543,900 AUD.
“McLaren believes the super luxury sports car segment has been historically overpriced in Australia, with a number of the ‘core’ manufacturers employing premium-pricing policies in this market”, as the carmaker is saying in a statement.
As a quick reminder, the McLaren MP4-12C is coming with the company’s 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which is good for 592 HP at 7,000 rpm and 443 lb-ft of torque, available between 3,000 and 7,000 rpm. The 0 to 62 mph acceleration is done in 3.3 seconds and top speed stands at 205 mph. McLaren says that the Corsa tire options are cutting down its 0 to 62 mph acceleration time be 0.2 seconds.
