Australia New Vehicles Sales in March the Highest in Two Years image

New vehicle sales in Australia went up 4% in March, the highest increase in 22 months.

In March sales rose 4% to 89, 694 units, he highest since May 2010, compared to an upwardly revised 86,203 units in February. Most part of the increase was due to the special utility vehicles (+7.5% MoM; +18.4% YoY), followed by passenger motor vehicles (+3.3% MoM; +1.6% YoY). The sales of other vehicles saw a slightly drop (+1.4% MoM; -6.5% YoY).

The Australian government said that sales of sports utility vehicles rose 7.5% in the month from a month earlier, to leave them 18.4% t higher for the year and that sales of passenger vehicles were up 3.3%, whereas sales of other vehicles grew by 1.4%.
